In order to provide services to any and all veterans who seek help through A Helping Hoof, they are not charged for services. The VA provides some funding but not enough to cover all of the expenses needed for the horses and equipment. Since A Helping Hoof serves veterans of all eras, we are not eligible for funding through some of the better known Disabled Veteran programs, as they only assist veterans who served after 9/11. We hold two competitive trail rides a year to raise money.
Donations are accepted directly through the program, either through Paypal, by check, or by money order. However, for tax exempt donations, A Helping Hoof has a valued relationship with the James P. Huber Foundation, http://www.emeritus1.org/. This a 501c3 foundation that raises money to help provide recreational opportunities for veterans. They are a strong supporter and wonderful partner of A Helping Hoof.
