Competitive Trail Ride
Competitive trail rides are one of the primary means of supporting the Veteran portion of A Helping Hoof. These are held twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall. They consist of a trail of 5-7 miles with 6-7 obstacles. There are three adult classes, a youth class, and, when possible, a driving class.
This spring we'll be doing a different event. We will be having a scavenger hunt at the Pegasus Event Center. Pictures relating to different places around the course will be given to the riders. Riders will have to find all the locations within a set time limit. There will be seven obstacles where the rider will be judged on how they work with their horse. At the end there will be a gambler's choice to gain last minute points for the final tally. This event will be held on June 4, 2016 at 1 p.m.
Youth is for a rider that is under the age of 17. These obstacles will be similar to the Blue Square obstacles.
Driven is only for special occasions when we have a relatively flat trail. Their obstacles will be similar in the difficulty as the Blue.
Please register early. We need a minimum of 15 registrations in order to have the ride. Let us know if you would be interested in volunteering.
