Funding
In order to provide services to any and all veterans who seek help through A Helping Hoof, they are not charged for services. The VA provides some funding but not enough to cover all of the expenses needed for the horses, equipment, and time. Since A Helping Hoof serves veterans of all eras, we are not eligible for funding through some of the better known Disabled Veteran programs, as they only assist veterans who served after 9/11.
The longer veterans participate in our program, the more opportunities open up for them. This can include horsemanship lessons from professional trainers, participation in horse clinics, and entries into local horse shows. Donations are used to pay for these experiences if the veteran can't pay for it themselves. We don't want anyone to limit themselves based on how much money they have.
We hold various events throughout the year to raise money. Please check our Events page for updates
