Astar refused to accept his new reality as a domesticated horse. He took every opportunity he could to stay as wild as possible. Since Astar is so smart, he knew he could pretend to be scared even when he wasn't anymore. Through lots of patience and time though Astar came around. At the show, Astar placed 7th all around. Due to a lack of adopters at the show, Astar ended up coming home with us.
This past summer, he finally made the decision that domesticated life wasn't so bad after all. As he changed his mind, he began to begin showing us other aspects of his personality. Astar is smart, goofy horse. While he doesn't trust 100%, he tries so hard to please. He wants to love, but he just wasn't ready to be vulnerable until very recently. Last week, Astar was able to find a new home. He was adopted by a wonderful 16 year old girl who was ready to take on the challenge. We are so excited for the two of them to begin their journey together.
